Following confirmation that Nike are set to release three small-sided sneaker versions of the iconic Total 90 III in Spring 2025, are we set to get a rerelease of the boot?

The thirst for all things nostalgic currently shows no signs of letting up, with adidas in particular raiding their archive with regularity to bring back some modernised icons of the past in the Predator 24 and the F50. But so far, Nike have refrained from pulling anything out of the past, instead sticking rigidly with a progressive focus on the future, despite the clamour from fans for the former…until now that is. See, Nike have just announced that the legendary T90 is receiving a special edition return…in sneaker form for now, at least.

Confirmed via Nike’s SNKRS Showcase – a video series on the SNKRS app that pulls back the curtain on what sneakers the brand is planning to drop in the coming seasons – we’re soon to be treated to three colourways of the T90 III (“Black/Metallic Silver”, “Dynamic Yellow/Green Spark”, “Bordeaux/Metallic Silver”), with all three set to drop in Spring 2025. Whilst this doesn’t mean we are definitely getting the T90 in pitch-ready boot form, the SNKRS Showcase shows off just that – sneakers, so there’s a very strong possibility that the three small-sided versions will be part of a wider release. At least, that’s what we’re very much hoping.

The Total 90 III debuted back in 2004, introducing the world to that now-instantly recognisable signature circled 90 on the instep. Gone was the tongue from the previous two iterations, leaving a sleeker silhouette that was promoted by the likes of Roberto Carlos, Luis Figo and Fernando Torres.

The last appearance of a T90 of any sort was the rerelease of the T90 Laser I back in 2019, so there’s a feeling that we’re long overdue another special edition return to the glory days of mid-noughties Nike.

Bring it back, Nike, we're ready...

With Nike set to unleash replenished power with the return of the iconic Nike T90 Laser I, it seems like an ideal time to take a walk down nostalgia lane as we look back on some of the best T90 Laser ads. Rooney, Torres and Dirty Sanchez all coming together in the name accuracy and power.

Get ready to gawp, one and all, because Nike have turned the clock back 10 years for a rerelease of pure nostalgic pleasure. Yes, the CTR360 Maestri III is back for a limited edition drop, looking as immense as it did upon its original run.

Over the last four weeks Nike has dropped each of its current lineup of football boots with a retro paint job inspired by some of the most iconic boots from its rich back catalogue, and this has got concept designers to thinking of what they’d like to see. And Berlin-based designers Lumo723 have caught our attention once again, with the stunning Nike Phantom VNM in the style of the Air Zoom T90 III.

Step this way please. Try to form an orderly queue, yeah? For this here is the most thunderous power-blast from the past and Nike have rifled it straight into the top corner of your basket, with laser-guided accuracy, obviously. The hardest hitting heavyweight is back in town as the T90 Laser returns.

With Wayne Rooney reverting back to the Nike T90 Laser II this week we've turned on the nostalgia to rewind to a time of pole-positioned power. The T90 Laser series remains one of Nike's most popular all-time boot collections, with each generation headlined by Rooney. Here we pick out his top 5 Nike commercials for the boot.

Legendary Portugal midfielder Luis Figo has taken it upon himself to confirm that a re-release of one of Nike's most universally loved football boots is imminent. Yep, the first generation Nike T90 Laser I is set to drop this month as the Swoosh raid the archives for the most crowd pleasing of moves.

One for the brave and the bold out there, as Nike drop the Premier III in a premium presentation of gold with white accents for a look that instantly conjures memories of Ronaldinho’s original gold Tiempo.

Keeping the options open and taking a hint of inspiration from the Euro 2012 ‘Clash Pack’, Nike drop the Premier III in a “Black/Volt/White” colourway.
